Live By Living | Walk into Wellness
Volunteer Walk Leader Position Description
As a Walk Leader, you will lead small groups of cancer survivors, caregivers and volunteers (usually 4-12 individuals) on a 4-week series of easy walks in the parks and multi-use paths.
Schedule
Walks are scheduled during daylight hours, anytime of the week or weekend. You may choose the day and time that works best. Walks are held year-round, weather permitting.

Walk Leaders commit to participating in an orientation session; reading the Volunteer Manual; attending 1-2 training hikes. After completing these steps, walk leaders commit to leading at least one 4-week long walk series per year (total 4 walks). The Leader will be responsible to identify each 4-week walk series, and preferred location(s) and to advise Live By Living (LBL) administration in advance, so that schedules may be adequately promoted. The Leader will also maintain a register of all participants on the walk and submit to LBL administration.
Location(s)
Walk Leaders may choose the location where they lead walks, often conveniently located near their workplace or home. Walks are held in parks, recreation paths or similar open space. Recommended distance is between one and three miles.
