Tenth Mountain Division Hut Association. Tenth Mountain is a non-profit that manages a system of 29 backcountry huts in the Rockies situated between Leadville, Vail and Aspen. Tenth Mountain has been very generous in its support of Live By Living.
Summit Huts Association. Summit Huts manages 4 backcountry huts in Summit County. Summit Huts has also generously supported Live By Living.
Colorado Mountain Club. Founded in 1912, CMC sponsors about 3,000 activities per year. Outings are scheduled mainly on weekends, and they cover a range of activities and degrees of difficulty.
Young Empowered Survivors. YES! is a survivor support group primarily for women who were diagnosed before age 45 (but is open to the young at heart!). YES! is primarily an on-line organization.
FFF is an exercise/education/support group for women survivors. It meets once a month, on the last Thursday of most months, generally in the south Denver area.
Boulder Center for Cancer Survivorship. BCCS provides theraputic exercise, symptom management and nutritional guidance to cancer patients who are in treatment or have completed treatment.
Cancer Fitness Institute. CFI provides cancer survivors with affordable and empowering personalized exercise programs at several recreation centers around Colorado. CFI trains exercise physiologists and recreation professionals to work with cancer survivors.
Rocky Mountain Team Survivor. RMTS is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping female cancer survivors to become more physically fit. Participants do not need to be athletic to participate, as women at all levels of fitness and in all stages of recovery from cancer are encouraged to join our membership of over 400 women. RMTS provides health and fitness information and training. Programs include walking, dance, yoga, weight training, swimming, snowshoeing, and triathlon training.
First Descents. FD is a non-profit based in Boulder, CO, that offers week-long camps where they teach survivors kayaking or rock climbing. Programs are offered in Colorado, Utah, Montana, and Washington.
Laura Kupperman Yoga. Group yoga classes and private sessions for survivors of any type of cancer, at any stage of recovery. Taught by Laura Kupperman, Certified Yoga Therapist and cancer survivor. Laura also leads Teacher Intensives for other yoga teachers who want to learn how to safely work with cancer survivors.
Cancer Adventures. CA is a non-profit emphasizing education regarding cancer prevention, early detection, survivorship and quality of life, with a focus on nutrition, physical activity and giving back to make a difference in one’s community. They have a great collection of links and resources!
